A Brief Introduction of Li Caiwang a Poet Calligrapher and Painter
Li Caiwang born in Huguan County Shanxi Province graduated from the department of history of Shanxi University in 1967. Being the former member of the municipal Party standing committee of Jincheng City the deputy mayor of Jincheng City deputy secretary-general of People’s Government of Shanxi Province director of the general office member of Shanxi provincial Party committee deputy secretary-general director of the general office deputy minister of publicity ministry of Shanxi provincial Party committee secretary of the leading Party group of Shanxi provincial literary federation now he is a member of the standing committee of Shanxi Political Consultative Conference deputy director of the culture and history committee president of the literary federation and president of the provincial calligraphers’ association.
As a member of the national literary federation member of the national writers’ association director of the national calligraphers’ association member of the national artists’ association member of the national association of folk art workers member of the Chinese Poetry Academy academic member of the national calligraphy collectors’ association deputy president of the national Zhao Shuli research association consultant of Shanxi artists’ association honorary president of Shanxi Flower-and-bird Painting Academy academician of Chinese celebrities’ calligraphy and painting academy academician of Chinese mayors’ calligraphy and painting academy guest professor of Shanxi University Shanxi Financial and Economic University Taiyuan Science and Engineering University and Taiyuan Normal College and honorary curator of Shanxi Today Art Gallery he has published many works like the collections of poems Scenery of Umbrella Winter without Snow among which Caught in the Rain at Confucian Temple in Nanjing Lament for Political Commissar Deng were collected into the Chinese Poetry Appreciation Dictionary. In 2000 he was awarded the honorary title of “World Distinguished Chinese Artist” and “Contemporary Chinese Sage Poet ” in 2003. Besides he published the collections of calligraphy and painting such as Selected Works of Li Caiwang’s Calligraphy and Painting (two editions) Philosophy and Interest in Li Caiwang’s Paintings (co-edited) Hundred Chickens Painting Hundred Cranes Painting Li Caiwang’s Self-written Poems Du Wuan’s Ode to TaiJiu Written by Li Caiwang.
In recent years Li Caiwang has held many one-man exhibitions respectively at Shanxi Jinbaozhai Building Shanxi Museum Shanxi Today Art Gallery China Art Gallery in Beijing Shanghai Art Gallery Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s Memorial Hall in Taibei Shenzhen He Xiangning Art Gallery and art gallery in Tianjin etc. Many works have been collected by Chairman Mao Memorial Hall Great Hall of the People Zhou Enlai and Deng Yingchao Museum Zhongnanhai and leaders of the country. Hundreds of news media at home and abroad have repeatedly introduced his political and art career and awarded him great praise.
